Wash & Care (Footless)

Wash & Care (Footless)

milkteds® compression footless socks or calf supports benefit from regular washing as the elasticity is restored during the wash process. In order to maintain the compression factor and prolong the lifespan of this luxury milk-fibre, it is advised that the product is washed with due care and attention as below:

We would recommend that this product is hand washed in cold water using a gentle soap, although you can machine wash using no higher than a 30° gentle wash cycle and mild detergent.

Furthermore, we recommend that you avoid the use of fabric conditioners as they may damage and wear down the fibres shortening the lifespan of this product.

Please do not bleach, iron or dry-clean.

This product is suitable for a low heat tumble dryer, however we recommend that you air dry where possible.

Please refraining from drying in strong sunlight or on a radiator.

To maximise the lifespan of this product, please use a wash bag, and always turn this product inside out prior to washing.

Ideally compression socks should be replaced after three months of regular use and six months of occasional use to maintain the correct level of compression.

Wear instructions

You will find it much easier to put on milkteds® footless socks and calf supports, compared to other compression footless socks or calf support of a similar degree of compression and no special devices or gloves would be required. In fact, even though they are a graduated fit, you are still able to ease your foot through this garment as if you are wearing a non-compression pair of footless socks/ calf support. However, you may find it more convenient if you try to fit the sock by sitting down comfortably. Have one leg raised at a time and start by rolling (gathering) each footless sock with your thumbs inside one of the sleeves. Work progressively up the foot, and continue to pull upward past the ankle, towards the knee, by doing one leg at a time.

The high degree of elasticity in the milkteds® yarn mix allows for the footless socks/ calf support to be pulled up past the knee, however, to ensure correct compression and to avoid over constriction at the knee, please ensure that the footless socks/ calf support is worn below the level of the knee. If the footless socks/ calf support appears to be slightly long, gently smooth it downwards below the knee and adjust to your lower leg length, trying to avoid any folds or creases along its entire length.
